From the Chief, 4,000 new staff

NRCS team,

As I’ve said many times recently, we have been given a once-in-a-generation opportunity to help more producers help the land than ever before with Inflation Reduction Act funding. But we know that we can’t provide great customer service or balance the higher workload for current staff without recruiting new staff to our team.

Hopefully you saw the recent recruitment announcement about the many job openings across the country for entry-level soil conservationists that we are hiring as part of our Inflation Reduction Act implementation plan. This is a huge opportunity to recruit the next generation of conservation experts in your community, and a key piece of our plan to hire around 4,000 additional staff in the coming years.

Please take a moment to share this soil conservationist job announcement with partners, schools, and others in your community in person and online. As current employees, there’s no one better to promote the benefits of working here than you. Our recruitment video for soil conservationists is also a great way to introduce potential applicants to the role.

If your potential recruits have any follow-up questions, you can connect them to your region’s Human Resources Division expert, listed below. This job announcement closes on May 15, so please reach out today.
